A packed week at Casa Búho featuring pterodactyl crafts, dinosaur books, dioramas, Baby Búhos activities, and a visit from Agencia Viral.

Mi primer diccionario visula de los dinosaurios. Editorial Edebé.
The week started with a fact about pterodactyls. These creatures were not dinosaurs — they were flying reptiles! Now we know for sure. We also learned that scientists believe they were carnivores, that they fished for fish, and that they weren’t that big. They had a long beak and a great row of teeth. During ‘Story Time’ we chose the book from the Edebé publishing house: ‘Mi primer diccionario visual de los dinosaurios’. It was a hit — the kids loved it. Then, as expected, we set out to make our own pterodactyl. Afterward, we made hanging ornaments with them. Super!

We were so happy with the pterodactyls that we decided to make some with the Baby Búhos. They turned out beautiful.
The session was very lovely and as always we had our exercises during this hour and a half of work. With Kaeli, a 9-month-old baby, we used the sensory hula-hoop that was made by our volunteers Sylvie and Magella, who were here last month volunteering with us. It turned out very nice!
On Tuesday afternoon, we began an activity that could not be completed in a single session. It is ‘my dinosaur book’. We are making our own book in which we will draw our favorite dinosaurs and write the most important facts about these fascinating creatures.
As every Wednesday, we went to the community of San Isidro where the children were waiting for us to read and work on the dinosaur theme. We made some pterodactyls.
In the afternoon, we read more about dinosaurs and set out to create a diorama representing the habitat where, according to scientists, they lived. It was a total success because now they play with it all the time.
Here is Joustin together with Helena, a volunteer from Solidarité Sud, working on a diorama.
They have already placed all the toy dinosaurs.
The Peque Búhos also worked on dinosaurs this week. We learned that dinosaurs were born from eggs. So we made a baby dinosaur coming out of its little egg. It was adorable!

And on Friday, we were lucky enough to receive a visit from our friends at Agencia Viral, who are helping us with the audiovisual products for our #TodosporCasaBúho campaign. They were with us all afternoon and we had a great time playing at being producers.
